At University Midwives, our team of Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) are skilled health care providers who provide personalized care for women throughout their lifespan, from adolescence to menopause. Our CNMs provide pre-conception and fertility counseling, annual exams, birth control services, as well as holistic medical care for labor, birth, and the postpartum period.

Well-Woman Care

Our practice offers a full spectrum of one-on-one services, including:

• Routine gynecologic visits
• Annual Exams
• Pap Smears
• STI screening and treatment
• Pelvic pain
• Irregular bleeding
• Preventive health screening and labs
• Menopause care
• Adolescent care
• Family Planning including hormonal contraception, IUDs, Nexplanon
• Preconception counseling

Individual Pregnancy & Postpartum Care

• Fertility counseling
• Early Pregnancy Confirmation Visits
• Routine prenatal care and delivery
• Prenatal labs and genetic screening
• Ultrasound referrals
• Relationship/family centered care
• Routine postpartum visits at 2 and 6 weeks after delivery
• Postpartum Depression Screening and treatment
• Breastfeeding support
• Postpartum problem visits
• Pelvic floor and Diastasis assessments

Labor & Birth Services

Our Certified Nurse-Midwives are available 24/7. We believe that pregnancy and birth is a healthy, normal process and provide intervention only when medically necessary.

• Individualized birth plan
• Experts in un-medicated labor support: continuous physical and emotional labor support, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, freedom of movement, breath awareness, massage
• Nitrous Oxide (“gas and air”)
• Intravenous Medications
• Epidurals
• Fetal monitoring
• High Risk Specialists and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on-site, if needed.

At UT Medical Center you can receive the full spectrum of care services. Midwives specialize in normal, physiologic, birth and are experts for caring for low risk women.

We work closely with our OB/GYN Physician colleagues to provide seamless care services for those women with complex medical problems or those who need surgery. We have the full resources of an academic medical center with an excellent team of Certified Nurse Midwives and medical specialists to help keep you and baby safe.
