SITE SURVEY – Public Notice
The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems will conduct an accreditation site visit of: UT LIFESTAR
On: September 26-27, 2022 | The purpose of the site visit will be to evaluate the program’s compliance with nationally established medical transport standards. The site visit results will be used to determine whether, and the conditions under which accreditation should be awarded to the program.

Critical Care Treatment for the East Tennessee Region
Based at The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, UT LIFESTAR provides critical care treatment and transport to more than 2,200 patients per year.
Our fleet of medical helicopters provides emergency aeromedical services and medical transport to patients in East Tennessee, Southeast Kentucky, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina.
Founded in 1984, the medical helicopter service operates around the clock, 365 days a year, weather permitting. Since its inaugural flight, UT LIFESTAR has flown more than 50,000 patients since its inception. Today’s fleet consists of five medical helicopters at strategically positioned bases around the region, allowing for rapid transport of critical care patients across the East Tennessee region. This includes East Tennessee, Southeast Kentucky, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina.
UT LIFESTAR is committed to excellence in clinical care and aviation safety. UT LIFESTAR is staffed by highly skilled personnel and stocked with emergency equipment and medications.
The UT LIFESTAR staff consists of pilots, nurses, paramedics, dispatchers and mechanics. Each helicopter is inspected and serviced daily.
UT LIFESTAR Emergency Activation
UT LIFESTAR air ambulances are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days per year, weather permitting. A UT LIFESTAR aircraft can be in most locations within our service area in 15 minutes or less.
