Kim Mason Executive Director of PharmacyKim Currie Mason, Pharm.D.
Executive Director, Pharmacy and Research

Dr. Mason is the Vice President of Pharmacy and Research at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. She also has joint faculty appointments in The University of Tennessee Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy. Dr. Mason has taught numerous residents and students in the areas of Drug Information, Medication Safety and Practice Management, and continues to teach third and fourth year pharmacy students about pharmacy administration.

Dr. Mason received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency followed by a Critical Care/Nutrition Residency at UT Medical Center where she served as the organization’s first Chief Pharmacy Resident. After joining the staff at UT Medical Center, she served as the Drug Information Specialist. She later became the first Medication Safety Specialist at UT Medical Center, managing the new Medication Safety Office now responsible for coordinating adverse drug event reporting, pharmacy performance improvement, and medication standards compliance.

As part of her interest in assuring overall patient safety, Dr. Mason has served for many years as the Chair of The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine’s Institutional Review Board (IRB). In recent years, she has taken on administrative roles helping to create the Office of Clinical Trials and UTMC’s Biobank, partnering with sponsors all over the world to participate in cutting edge research. She is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, having served as state affiliate President of the Tennessee Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She has also served on several advisory boards for wholesalers and group purchasing organizations, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence. Dr. Mason and her husband reside in North Knoxville with their five teenagers.

Amy B. Flatt, Pharm.D., Director, Pharmacy OperationsAmy B. Flatt, Pharm.D.
Director, Inpatient Pharmacy Operations

Dr. Flatt received her Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of Tennessee Allied Health Sciences in 2003 and subsequently completed an American Society of Health System Pharmacists-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Following her residency, she practiced as a Clinical Pharmacist at the East Tennessee Heart Consultants Heart Failure Clinic before returning to the University of Tennessee Medical Center as a Lead Pharmacist in operations. During this time, Dr. Flatt facilitated various beta tests and implementation projects for technologies such as automated dispensing cabinets throughout the Medical Center. Dr. Flatt also served as the first Computerized Provider Order Entry and Systems Specialist for the Medical Center before assuming the role of Associate Director of Pharmacy in 2010, and in 2018 she was promoted to Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Services.

Dr. Flatt oversees all inpatient pharmacy services, as well as purchasing and technical staff. She is an expert in strategies to mitigate institutional drug shortages and collaborates closely with the medical staff on these and other initiatives. She and her husband, who is also a pharmacist, live in Knoxville with their daughter and twin sons.

Barbara Eve Faircloth, Pharm.D., BCCCP, BCPS
Assistant Director, Pharmacy

Dr. Faircloth is the Assistant Director of Pharmacy at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. She is also an Assistant Professor with The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Faircloth received her Bachelor of Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Rutgers University College of Pharmacy in May 1997. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Residency at UT Medical Center, after which she practiced as the critical care medicine specialist and critical care residency program director.

In addition to her commitment to patient care and furthering the education of the future of our profession, Dr. Faircloth is the proud mother of two wonderful boys.

Troy RebertTroy Rebert, DPh
Director, Outpatient Pharmacy Operations 

Dr. Rebert is the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services at the University of Tennessee Medical Center which encompasses ambulatory & specialty pharmacy, ambulatory infusion, chemo infusion, 340B compliance and COVID vaccine management. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University in May of 1998. He also serves on the medical oversight committee for the Board of Directors of the Free Medical Clinic of America. Prior to his move to UT Medical Center, he served as manager for chain and independent pharmacies in the greater Knoxville area.

Jeff Lewis, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCACP, CDCES
Assistant Director, Outpatient Clinical Pharmacy

Dr. Lewis is the Assistant Director of Outpatient Clinical Pharmacy at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. He also has a faculty appointment at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Pharmacy. In addition, Dr. Lewis precepts PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents as part of the department’s ASHP-accredited residency programs and is also the residency program director for the Ambulatory Care PGY2 residency. He is the course director for the Ambulatory Care Elective at the UTHSC College of Pharmacy and precepts third- and fourth-year pharmacy students in an outpatient Cardiology Clinic.

Dr. Lewis received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2008 and completed a Primary Care Residency at Holston Medical Group in conjunction with UTHSC in 2010. He has a background in primary care and endocrinology with a specialization in diabetes management. Dr. Lewis’ interests include diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction, novel payment mechanisms, and pharmacy education.

Dr. Lewis is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Tennessee Pharmacists Association. He is currently serving as President-elect of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association 2022-2023 and will step into the President role 2023-2024. Dr. Lewis is married with two children and enjoys spending time with family and friends, college sports, and any outdoor activity.
