The University of Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Institute Presents “The Future of Breast Cancer: an Educational Conference.”

Registration Fees

Fees include course registration for all sessions, conference materials, continuing education credit, breakfast and lunch.

  • $100 Physicians
  • $50 PAs, NPs, RTs, Nurses and all Allied Health Professionals
  • $10 Allied Health and Nursing Students

Learning Objectives

  • At the conclusion of the course, the participants should be able to
  • Identify non-modifiable risk factors for breast cancer
  • Learn pragmatic, simple yet profound adjunctive lifestyle modifications to reduce risk factors for breast cancer
  • Learn the benefits and limitations of genetic testing on unaffected women with emphasis on population-based BRCA1/2 testing
  • Identify the pros and cons of the various methods of screening and diagnostic testing using evidence based guidelines (ACR, NCCN) for breast patients
  • Define health literacy and its impact on patients
  • Discuss the unique aspects of treatment and support for younger breast cancer patients
  • Understand the evolving role of chemotherapy in ER/PR positive breast cancer patients
  • Explore the psychosocial needs of the community affected by breast cancer

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education through the joint providership of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and the UT Medical Center.
