Mobile Mammography Unit Offers Screenings at Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota
On Friday, August 21, 2020, Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota hosted UT Medical Center’s 3-D Mobile Mammography Unit to provide breast health screenings. The mobile health initiative provides screenings for women in 21 counties across East Tennessee. Access to Digital Screening Mammograms is provided on UT Medical Center’s state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit for both insured and uninsured women across the region.
Over the past four years, Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota has donated $40,000 to the Cancer Institute at UT Medical Center, helping to fund the University Breast Center‘s Breast Health Outreach Program (BHOP). This program allows many women from underserved areas throughout East TN to be able to afford breast health services offered on the mobile mammography unit. Last year, BHOP provided more than 3,500 mammograms to women throughout East Tennessee. The mobile unit visits women where they work, worship, gather, shop, and live to offer education and breast cancer screenings.
